Hello and Happy Friday campus-community partners,

The Ohio Program for Campus Safety and Mental Health (OPCSMH), in partnership with the statewide QPR Advisory Committee, is pleased to announce two opportunities related to the upcoming QPR Instructor Training for Trainers (T4T). This impactful initiative was launched through the collaboration efforts of Center for Excellence in Behavioral Health and Prevention Promotion.

  1. The T4T will be hosted at the University of Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio on October 10, 2025. The intention of this QPR Instructor course is to equip members of Ohio's campus-community with suicide prevention skills and knowledge specifically for pre-professional and professional students. Students enrolled in professional and pre-professional programs such as medicine, dentistry, veterinarian medicine, pharmacy, and law, are exposed to unique stressors that can often lead to support and referrals for mental, emotional and behavioral needs.

The application opens on August 1, 2025, and closes on August 22, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. If you are interested in applying, please review the materials attached and application link below.

The theme of this year's symposium is "Beyond the Game: Teaming up for Suicide Prevention" and will focus on supporting the mental health and well-being of college athletes and e-athletes across Ohio. This event will feature content experts and resources dedicated to helping collegiate athletes build resilience, improve well-being, and prevent suicide.  See the attached flyer.
