Please join the OPCSMH in welcoming our two new Collegiate Mental Health Assistants!

We're thrilled to introduce Ren and Mattison, who will work with us through June. These two student employees will enhance our team's focus on addressing mental health, wellness, and suicide prevention for students enrolled in Ohio's institutions of higher education.

Ren is a graduate student at the University of Akron pursuing a Master's degree in Social Work. Mattison is an undergraduate student majoring in public health at Kent State University.

During their time with OPCSMH, Ren and Mattison will assist with several key initiatives such as biennial conference planning, dissemination of mental health resources and materials, and developing a statewide college student mental health advisory.

We are confident that Ren and Mattison will significantly contribute to our team, leveraging their unique perspectives and firsthand perspectives in our efforts to support students' mental health and well-being across Ohio's IHEs.

Please join us in extending a warm welcome to them!

Reminder: January 2025 Webinar: Introduction to The Community Resiliency Model (CRM)(r): Accessible Skills to Support Mental Health and Campus Safety

Join the OPCSMH for the first webinar of 2025! Dr. Ingrid Duva and Dr. Shelby Collins will join us to discuss The Community Resiliency Model (CRM)(r), a novel, evidence-informed approach to managing stress and the effects of trauma. CRM consists of 6 easy to learn skills designed to enhance wellbeing and alleviate mental distress; serving as both a recovery and a preventative tool, this model is especially helpful for populations facing environmental, political, and social challenges.
