Good afternoon valued partners and stakeholders,

We would like to introduce Abby Zona, who joins the Ohio Program for Campus Safety and Mental Health team as the dissemination coordinator here at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED).

Abby is a recent 2021 graduate of Ohio University, majoring in Community and Public Health. She also recently completed her credentialling exam to become a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) at the end of April. Abby is extremely proud of both accomplishments as they have brought her here to NEOMED and will assist in her role.

Abby had the opportunity throughout her time at Ohio University to be a part of the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs specifically the Partnership for Community Based Prevention as a Research Scholar and as an intern. As an intern, she worked with the Strategic Prevention Framework, supporting capacity building, and providing technical assistance for two counties in Ohio.  Both experiences at the Voinovich School have equipped her with skills as well as the confidence to display them in the community and in a work setting.

A fun fact about Abby is, she previously worked at a local ice cream shop (Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream) and knows what’s just about in every single one of their 100+ flavors… so if you’re curious what’s in your favorite flavor you can always ask her! 😊

Abby is tremendously excited to be a part of Ohio Program for Campus Safety and Mental Health as this opportunity will support her in growing as a public health professional.

Please be on the lookout for emails, messages, and communications from her in the future! Welcome aboard, Abby!
