OPCSMH May 2024 Webinar:  From Burnout to Balance: Understanding the Importance of Decolonizing Mental Health and Wellness Strategies for BIPOC Students

We invite you to join us for the final OPCSMH webinar of the 2023-2024 Webinar Series! On Wednesday, May 8th at 12:00PM EST, Stacey Diane Arañez Litam PhD., LPCCs, NCC, CCMHC, Associate Professor, Cleveland State University, will provide her presentation: From Burnout to Balance: Understanding the Importance of Decolonizing Mental Health and Wellness Strategies for BIPOC Students, in which she will discuss the unique challenges that first generation BIPOC student. She will provide a brief introduction to the decolonized framework for mental health approaches and wellness strategies in higher education as many of the current approaches to well-being are historically grounded in Eurocentric and Western models and have been inconsistent with the ways in which many BIPOC individuals understand, experience, and navigate the world. An application for CEUs is currently pending. We hope to see you there!

Peg's Foundation and the NEOMED Department of Psychiatry Coordinating Centers of Excellence sponsor this lecture annually.

The Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Drug Misuse Prevention and Recovery invites you to attend the 2024 National Meeting, from July 30th-August 1st, 2024, at The Ohio State University's Ohio Union, with a simultaneous virtual conference. Attendees can look forward to plenty of educational opportunities, networking, and collaborative experiences.
