Good morning,

Our names are Mattison Toth and Ren Hackley, and we are Collegiate Mental Health Assistants with the Ohio Program for Campus Safety and Mental Health. We are contacting you because the Ohio Campus Safety and Mental Health Program is recruiting passionate, self-motivated, and driven student leaders across all degree programs for a state-wide Collegiate Mental Health Advisory of Ohio. This advisory is aimed at improving mental health and preventing suicide in college students. We would be delighted to see an application from students interested in representing your institution. Please share this opportunity to apply for the Collegiate Mental Health Advisory of Ohio with undergraduate and graduate students from any degree program who you believe would be an interested candidate. Attached is a sharable graphic for the Collegiate Mental Health Advisory of Ohio. The application opens on February 26th and closes on March 17th; it also includes the QR Code for the application. Students must include a statement and one letter of recommendation with their application; the first board meeting will be held in April for 1.5 hours.

The mission statement of the Collegiate Mental Health Advisory of Ohio is to prevent, spread awareness of, and provide support for mental health symptoms, mental health crises, and suicide prevention within the college student population of Ohio. We aim to achieve this through communication and collaboration with college student populations to understand better what mental health challenges they are uniquely facing. In partnership with the OPCSMH, we aim to distribute relevant mental health resources across Ohio to this population, encourage them to share their knowledge to advocate for mental wellness, and raise awareness about their campus community's unique mental health needs. We are particularly passionate about reaching out to Ohio's college student population because this group is particularly at risk due to the elevated stress levels, change, and uncertainty in college.

We are excited to partner with fellow students for this exciting advocacy initiative! Please share this opportunity with your students and any other faculty or staff you think may have connections with interested parties. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at opcsmh@neomed.edumailto:opcsmh@neomed.edu, or we can direct you to our supervisor, Annaleise Fisher, Suicide Prevention and Health Promotion Manager with the Ohio Program for Campus Safety and Mental Health.
