Suicide Prevention Month Resources & Ohio Center for Excellence for Behavioral Health Prevention and Promotion Partnership & Funding Announcement

September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month

Constituents of the NEOMED Coordinating Centers of Excellence - the Best Practices in Schizophrenia Treatment (BeST) Center, the Criminal Justice Coordinating Center of Excellence, and the Ohio Program for Campus Safety & Mental Health - regularly interact with individuals at risk for suicide - and can and do help to reduce suicide risk in communities throughout Ohio. Some suicide prevention resources provided by the Coordinating Centers of Excellence can be found on the webpage link below.

The Ohio Program for Campus Safety and Mental Health is honored to serve as an Inaugural Partner of the newly established Ohio Center for Excellence for Behavioral Health Prevention and Promotionhttps://preventioncoe.ohio.gov/.  As an Inaugural Partner, we represent and share the innovative and impactful work that organizations, coalitions, or groups are in engaged in to advance mental, emotional, and behavioral health prevention and promotion in Ohio.  The Center will also support system change efforts to help communities identify local prevention needs and solutions, enhance multi-sector efforts to support Ohio's children, adults, and families, and support Ohio's prevention workforce with opportunities to learn and grow as a professional.

The Center also recently announced 2 new RFPs, totaling $1 Million in prevention funding for local communities.  Applications are due on October 7, 2022.  You can learn more about the funding opportunities and the Center by:
