Good morning campus-community partners,

Afternoon Keynote: Postvention Guidance: A Roadmap for Support and Prevention for Campus Communities

Through this informative presentation Dr. Michael will help participants identify how colleges and universities can collaborate with the campus-community to leverage the promotion of student safety & well-being, mental health awareness and campus suicide prevention/postvention efforts. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss the prevalence, risk factors, and impact of suicide within college communities. Additionally, participants will compile ways colleges and universities can engage with their broader communities to enhance mental health awareness, promote student safety, and strengthen postvention efforts.

Panel: The Highs and Lows: Marijuana's Complex Role in College Mental Health

As marijuana use becomes increasingly normalized and legalized, particularly in Ohio, its impact on college students' mental health remains a complex issue. This panel will explore the nuanced relationship between marijuana use and mental well-being in college populations, addressing both potential therapeutic benefits and risks. Experts in mental health, substance use, and student wellness will engage in discussion on the latest research, impacts, and harm reduction strategies. Join us for an insightful conversation on how colleges can navigate this evolving topic to support student well-being effectively.
