Introductions

I'd also like to take the opportunity to introduce myself! I am Chris Tutino, the dissemination coordinator for the Ohio Program for Campus Safety and Mental Health. I have a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a master's in Public Health with a concentration in social and behavioral sciences, both were earned at Kent State University.

During undergrad, I had the opportunity to initiate a student club that centered on men's mental health with a fellow peer. Our objective was to create a safe space for any individual who identified as male to come discuss mental health with a group of their peers. We aimed to educate students and combat stigmas as well. Meetings were open to anyone who was interested to gather outside perspectives on men's mental health. This project was called Even Ground and it is easily one of my proudest accomplishments.

During my graduate program at Kent, I also had the opportunity to complete an internship with the Division of Mental Health and Substance Use. During this internship, an opportunity was presented to develop an event that provided education for students, staff, and faculty on utilizing gratitude journaling to manage symptoms of anxiety and stress.

Outside of work I enjoy music, photography, and football. I own an electric bass guitar, but I don't think it is fair to say I can actually play it yet. I also like to collect vinyl records. I believe I have around 30-40 records in my collection as of right now.

I have encountered many great mentors throughout my life that have helped me grow personally and professionally, and I am eternally grateful for each and every one of them. I am very excited to be a part of the Ohio Program for Campus Safety and Mental Health.  Stay connected to us for training, resources and more!
