Registration for the 3rd OPCSMH Campus Safety & Suicide Prevention Symposium: Beyond the Game: Teaming Up for Suicide Prevention is now open! Join us on October 9, 2025! Attendees can look forward to hearing from content experts in suicide prevention and collegiate athlete and e-athlete mental health. Don't miss out on this educational event! Registration closes on October 1st, 2025.

We will be joined by Morning Keynote Quentin Shambley, MSN, RN, PMHNP-BC, The Hidden Opponent who will combine professional insight with personal experience as a former Division I football player to explore the unique mental health challenges athletes face. Also joining us, is Afternoon Keynote Jamey Houle, PhD, Lead Sport Psychologist, The Ohio State University. Dr. Houle will discuss the suicide prevention strategy of resilience development within an athletic department. Scarlet and Grit, a seven-week elite resilience training program will be discussed as a proposed option to address suicide prevention within an athletic department. Additionally, hear from athletic staff and student athletes on two panels discussing student athlete mental health from different roles and perspectives. We hope to see you there!
FY26 Campus-Community Collaborative Grants Request for Proposal (RFP) - Closing Soon!
We are excited to announce that the Ohio Program for Campus Safety and Mental Health is now accepting proposals for the FY26 Campus-Community Collaborative Grants (CCG).
These grants serve to support the development of suicide prevention, mental health promotion, and stigma reduction programs for campus students, staff, and faculty of Ohio's institutions of higher education. The proposals should demonstrate a collaborative relationship between one or more colleges, universities, technical schools and/or community colleges within the area and a local community organization.
All documents including budget and letters of support can be uploaded through Qualtrics via the file upload function. All applications should be submitted via the following link:

Applications are due by September 8th, 2025, at 5:00 PM.
