Understanding Sexual Violence – Creating a Culture of Care

Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C) has planned several events to educate the community this upcoming Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Register to attend one of their upcoming events in with Arnetta Matthews, MA, LPCC, OCPSA, Director of Education and Outreach, Cleveland Rape Crisis Center (CRCC) to increase your awareness of concepts related to sexual violence, including definitions and statistics, characteristics and warning signs, the impact of trauma, and how to effectively respond to survivors of sexual assault. Attendees will also receive information on connecting survivors to resources for supportive services. This presentation will be on Thursday, April 4th, from 11:00AM-12:00PM EST, at the Metro Campus Center. A Variety of Topics to be Covered at Campus Safety & Suicide Prevention Symposium

The deadline to register for the OPCSMH 2024 Campus Safety & Suicide Prevention Symposium: Cultivating Caring Campuses has been extended to Wednesday, April 3rd! A variety of topics will be covered throughout the day. Attendees can look forward to presentations that address overcoming the challenges of preventing suicide and mental health distress on campus, what suicide prevention on college campuses could look like in the future, the importance of having an effective on-campus response team, how to avoid the “one size fits all” approach of many suicide prevention programs in order to better support the LGBTQ+ community, and much more!
